Naivasha, Maasai Mara, Aberdares & Nanyuki (July - Sept)
Naivasha is known for its fresh water lake – Lake Naivasha which attracts hundreds of bird species. Naivasha is also known for its flower farms as well as geographical features such as the gorge at the Hell’s gate National Park, the Fischer’s Tower for those enthusiastic about rock climbing as well as Mt Longonot an extinct Mountain. Crescent Island on the lake also promises to be a fun experience.
The greatest spectacle on earth of over 1 million wildebeest migrating from the Serengeti to the Mara can also be witnessed at this time. The annual wildebeest migration is a sight to behold and can only truly be appreciated in person….the Maasai who are the local inhabitants of the Mara pride in telling and showing visitors about their culture and local traditions. The Aberdares are part of the Central highlands of Kenya where the 2nd highest mountain in Africa – Mt. Kenya is found.
Enjoy expansive views of rolling hillsides with farm land as it is an area renowned for its agricultural produce. Nanyuki is the town at the base of Mt Kenya and is home to Ol Pejeta conservancy, home to the only 3 White Rhino left in the world.
